Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer with the following skills:

    Knowledge/Experience
  • 1-5 years of Linux/UNIX and or Windows/Linux/BSD programming in C, C++, Java or Perl
  • 2-3 years HTML, Javascript and CGI with knowledge of XML and WebServices
  • Experience working with Linux distributions and is familiar with patching, compiling, developing, and managing the release of a storage-focused distribution. This includes familiarity with storage centric applications such as: Samba, NFS, RAID, and logical volume managers that are found in standard distributions of Linux
  • Has an understanding of background authentication in Linux BSD, and volume and file management usage. Has ability to diagnose server and network problems efficiently to resolve issues, as well as good communication skills to generate product documentation

    • Additional Skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Linux scripting, automation, and architecture in large production server environments from the design phase on
  • Samba, NFS, RAID, Rsync experience Additional programming requirements include: Linux shell scripting/automation experience (Bourne, shell, bash, perl, sed/awk, etc).
  • Network management experience (HTML, SNMP)
  • Build or maintain RPMs
  • Patch Kernel with other’s patches and change kernel RPM spec files
  • OS protocols and applications (DNS, SMTP, NFS, Apache, etc).
  • Clear programming style in scripting
  • Knowledge of Network Monitoring/Management Systems (NMS) & other open source tools

Education: BS/MS in Information Technology (IT)
